Make Social Studies hands-on and engaging with this globe craftivity!
For this project, students are asked to construct a 3D model of Earth displaying its tectonic plates. On the back of the model, students are asked to answer research questions about Plate Tectonics and label diagrams of the 3 Types of Boundaries (Convergent, Divergent, Transform).
The surface of Earth is divided into 15 different pieces called tectonic plates that move and bump into each other, creating mountains, valleys, trenches, earthquakes, and volcanic activity. For this project, students are asked to construct a 3D model of Earth displaying its tectonic plates.
A 3D model of the globe can help students visualize the tectonic plates on Earth. Students also learn about the correct shape, size and location of the plates and how they interact with one another.

Exactly what I was looking for. Creative/artistic way of viewing tectonic plates. Loved that you had two versions.
Thank you! My students enjoyed this and it was great to add it to my lessons.
I used this as an extension to one of my reading units. My students loved creating their 3-D globe!
This is a great product! I used it to supplement science instruction in my classroom. Thank you for your resources!
Great resource to learn about the tectonic plates in a different way. Love the 3D aspect to the globe!
