Inspire your students to explore the mysteries of Space!
The boundless, mysterious, and largely unexplored void that is known as Space has fascinated human beings for thousands of years. From The Big Bang to the possibility of life on Europa (a moon of Jupiter), what we learn about our universe helps us understand our place within it. For this assignment, students choose a Space related topic to study and create a project to showcase their learning.
This resource guides students through the process of conducting their own research report on a Space related topic. First, students choose a topic to focus on and learn how to properly conduct research. After researching, students choose how to showcase their learning by creating a poster board, presentation board, PowerPoint, dodecahedron, or 3D model. Afterwards, students present their learning to the class and self-assess their achievement. To help students choose a research topic (and to introduce the project to the class) we have included a PowerPoint that features the Top 10 Research Topics.

Project-Based Learning (PBL) is a student-centered pedagogy in which students are challenged to actively learn about a subject for an extended period of time. It is a form of active learning or inquiry-based learning. Project-Based Learning is in contrast to paper-based, rote memorization, or teacher-led instruction that presents established facts.
