In 4th Century BCE, the ancient Greek philosopher, Aristotle, wrote a book entitled, Politics, in which he described the concept of revolution. A revolution is a sudden and fundamental change in society. Political revolutions typically occur when unhappy citizens revolt against their government to create change. Technological revolutions occur when new technology dramatically changes the structure and/or function of a society. For this assignment, students choose a revolution to study and create a project to showcase their learning. Have fun!

This resource guides students through conducting their own research report on a revolution (20+ topics are listed). After choosing a topic to focus on, students are asked to conduct research using the Internet and books while following criteria. Next, students are asked to share their learning by creating a poster board, presentation board, power point presentation, or dodecahedron (Instructions and Pentagon Template included). Artwork may also be created to further display learning. Finally, students present their work to the class.

Can be done in partners. Printable Evaluation forms included!

Project-Based Learning (PBL) is a student-centered pedagogy in which students are challenged to actively learn about a subject for an extended period of time. It is a form of active learning or inquiry-based learning. Project-Based Learning is in contrast to paper-based, rote memorization, or teacher-led instruction that presents established facts. Please be aware of what you are purchasing.

Great resource to engage my child who is a reluctant learner and has lost a lot of motivation at this time of the school year to learn about the American Revolution without them having to write a paper.
