For thousands of years, people have publicly expressed their objection towards ideas or actions that they feel are wrong. From the French citizens storming the Bastille in 1779 to African Americans boycotting the Montgomery Bus Company in 1955, history has shown that protests can be successful in creating significant change. For this assignment, you will choose a protest to study and create a project to showcase your learning.

This resource guides students through conducting their own research report on a world-changing protest (34 topics are listed). After choosing a protest to focus on, students are asked to conduct research using the Internet and books while following criteria. Next, students are asked to share their learning by creating a poster board, presentation board, power point presentation, or dodecahedron (Instructions & Pentagon Template included). Artwork may also be created to further display learning. Finally, students present their work to the class.

Project-Based Learning (PBL) is a student-centered pedagogy in which students are challenged to actively learn about a subject for an extended period of time. It is a form of active learning or inquiry-based learning. Project-Based Learning is in contrast to paper-based, rote memorization, or teacher-led instruction that presents established facts. Please be aware of what you are purchasing.
