Engage your students in the meaningful and relevant study of pandemics. Empower them to find solutions through analyzing how people and governments manage these global outbreaks.
Throughout history, pandemics have profoundly impacted human life. A pandemic is defined as an infectious disease that rapidly spreads to a large number of people throughout the world. From small pox and tuberculosis to SARS and COVID-19, pandemics can vary greatly from one another. Through studying past and current pandemics, we can learn how best to manage, or even prevent them in the future. For this assignment, students will choose a pandemic to study and create a project to showcase their learning.
This resource guides students through the process of conducting their own research report on a pandemic. First, students choose a pandemic to focus on and learn how to properly conduct research. After researching, students choose how to showcase their learning by creating a poster board, presentation board, PowerPoint, or dodecahedron. Afterwards, students present their learning to the class and self-assess their achievement.

Project-Based Learning (PBL) is a student-centered pedagogy in which students are challenged to actively learn about a subject for an extended period of time. It is a form of active learning or inquiry-based learning. Project-Based Learning is in contrast to paper-based, rote memorization, or teacher-led instruction that presents established facts.

Great resource to use with my virtual students! Thank you!
My students were participating in a Pandemic PBL and this was a helpful resource.
Nice resource. Thanks!
This was a great resource for my gifted students. They loved the research and had a great time making and presenting their work!
My students enjoyed this project. It was wonderful that it came with a list for them to choose from. I cut up the list and had my students pull them out of a hat! They had fun learning about the different topics from their classmates. Thank you!
