Most scientists agree that climate change caused by human activity began with the Industrial Revolution in the 19th Century. As economies transformed from agriculture to manufacturing, greenhouse gasses began to collect in the atmosphere causing global temperatures to rise. From glaciers melting in the arctic causing sea levels to rise, to an increased amount of natural disasters, the impact of climate change is astounding. For this assignment, students will study climate change and create a lapbook to showcase their learning.

This resource guides students through conducting their own lapbook research report on climate change. Students are taught how to conduct research using the Internet and books while following the guided research prompts. Next, students complete the various templates that go into their lapbook. Finally, students follow build their lapbooks by following step-by-step instructions (with photos) to showcase their learning.

Project-Based Learning (PBL) is a student-centered pedagogy in which students are challenged to actively learn about a subject for an extended period of time. It is a form of active learning or inquiry-based learning. Project-Based Learning is in contrast to paper-based, rote memorization, or teacher-led instruction that presents established facts.
